Shadow Lands

C.S. Lewis understood this world and all its beauty to be just a shadow of what God has planned for His children in His kingdom to come. I have been reading Peter Kreeft's book on C.S. Lewis (the man behind the movie - Shadow Lands), and amazingly the message of the book is ringing true right now all around me. The beauty of the nature here and the sea and our children's joyful play and loving ways seem to only strengthen the longing for His kingdom and the serious joy we are going to experience there. All that is pure and good here and now will not be shaken, but all that plagues this world now with its corruption and lust will be done away with. Makes you want to be as pure as you can be, and to savor the longing as the desired is yet to be. I highly recommend this book. And i highly recommend that you meditate and enjoy the reality of the kingdom of heaven now as a child does - with eager expectation and sheer confidence in the one who says it will be.

Thanks to Super Mama

Mama gave a huge blessing to Papa. Papa had been waiting all week (if not since December), for a swell like the one that came on Thursday. Many of this year's swells came when Papa was working, and so this one was much anticipated. Especially because it was late in the season, and so it would only be 'da boyz' in the water. Not that it ever gets crowded anyways, especially bigger days. But i digress, this post is about how i was surfing with a few good bros, fully stoked, but never knowing that Mama made her way down to the promenade to take some photos (quite a few that is). The first day she had Adelei strapped to her and Mikkai holding her hand. The second day, she drove the three kids down in the van to the promenade by Portinha, and then took the stroller for Adelei and some toys and snacks for the kids, and she took some more photos on the second day. Both days i had no idea that she was shooting photos. It was a huge blessing to come home and see all these photos. Some of the shots on the first day you can tell that Adelei was "active" in her babybjorn, but what a trooper (Adelei and Mama). So big props to super Mama!!!

Our kids favorite worship songs right now.....

I wish I could show a video of Kaija singing these songs....so cute. I need to figure it out but she sings at the top of her lungs, holds her hands up and does hand motions.....just imagine...
